The method

Composed, not cropped.

A hero film gets cut for one screen, then someone squeezes it into a vertical and the subject walks out of frame. Phokus works the other way around: the frame is decided first, and every deliverable is composed for the shape it will actually be seen in.

Five years of mobile engineering trained the eye for this — safe areas, device classes, dynamic type — and the same discipline now runs the generative side, where holding a composition and a character across ratios is the hardest problem in the room.
